Cherwell District Council has appointed Neil Wild and Iain Nicholson on a 12-month, part time contract to work with existing town centre partners including the Old Town Association, the Chamber of Commerce, Castle Quay, Banbury Town Council, the market operator, existing businesses and other town centre stakeholders.
Their brief includes identifying gaps in the town’s retail and leisure offer, promoting Banbury to would-be new businesses, and helping to develop initiatives that reduce the leakage of spending power by people shopping elsewhere. The £15,000 contract has been funded from the government’s High Street Innovation Fund.
Iain Nicholson – a town centres specialist who has worked on a number of projects and initiatives in towns and city suburbs.
Neil Wild – Property consultant, town centres coordinator & pioneer for change.

The Karcher Accumulator Challenge – Katharine House Hospice are asking local schools, colleges and businesses to enter this fantastic new challenge whereby Karcher provide a £50 start-up fund and teams are challenged to turn this into as much money as possible for Katharine House Hospice.

January 2005 – Present (9 years 6 months)
The Challenge will start on Monday 8th September, and will run until Friday, 5th December 2014 – 3 months for you to raise as much money as possible for this excellent local cause.
There will be an awards ceremony in December where prizes will be given for:-
* Most creative schools entry – under 16
* Most funds generated by a school – under 16
* Most creative sixth form / college entry
* Most funds generated by a sixth form / college entry
* Most creative business entry
* Most funds generated by a business
And, the overall Kärcher Accumulator Challenge winner (a combination of creative flair and funds raised.)
You receive a £50 stake from Kärcher (UK) Limited which you will use to try to accumulate funds for Katharine House Hospice.
We will send out a Kärcher Accumulator Challenge Starter Pack to all teams, containing information about Katharine House, further details regarding the Challenge, fundraising ideas and an Agreement to be signed by an adult.
